Paypal Killer With Lower Transaction Fee than Paypal
By: Ethan Wong

Google had just launched its new service: ?Google Checkout?. It is actually a payment gateway system that is quite similar to Paypal, where you integrate with your website, enabling your customers to buy from you quickly and securely, using a single username and password. And once they do, you can use Google Checkout to charge their credit cards, process their orders, and receive payment in your bank account.

Basically, Google Checkout does not require any monthly, setup, or gateway service fees. You only be charged a low 2% + %ARTICLEBODY%.20 per transaction when you use Google Checkout to process your sales, which actually beats Paypal?s current 2.9% and %ARTICLEBODY%.30 per transaction to be a Paypal Killer. Compared with other payment gateway like Worldpay, eNets, which requires a setup and annual fee, Google Checkout is definitely a better choice for low capital start-ups

Furthermore, it also provide free transaction processing for Google Adwords advertiser: For every $1 you spend on AdWords each month, you can process $10 in sales the following month for free through Google Checkout.

One advantage is that you can add the Google Checkout badge to your AdWords ads, which will identify your site that you accept Google Checkout payments from shoppers. Some are wondering if this may help your Adwords ranking. This is something that still remains to be seen.

Another advantage is that the purchasing information of every Checkout user is stored in a single account, so they can buy from you by simply providing their username and password. Hence your shoppers will not be frustrated due to long checkout process.

However, there are limitations and restrictions of certain products, goods, services, and other items to be sold using Google Checkout. For the complete list, see https://checkout.google.com/seller/content_policies.html

If you are selling on eBay, you may want to review their approved payment type. As of the article is published, Google Checkout is not accepted by eBay as their payment solution.

Google Checkout does provide Payment Guarantee policy whereby if you get a chargeback on an eligible transaction and give us all requested documentation and information within 10 days of the request, they will reimburse you within a week. Moreover, Checkout?s privacy features are great for your buyers as Google handles all of their personal information. All cred?t card details are maintained by Google with complete details of all transactions.
