Closet Organizing Tips
By: Arturo Ronzon
If you New Year?s resolution will include getting more organized, then closet organizing would be high on your list of things to do. Closet organizing is a big task if it is taken as a whole so maybe the smarter thing to do is to break in down into several smaller tasks.
The first step in closet organizing is to smoke out all the items that are no longer needed. There is a good chance that you will find a lot of things that you don?t need. Organizing your junk into separate stacks like sell, donate and throw away can be useful.
Now that all the unwanted items have been weeded out, it is time to start organizing the wanted ones. Put similar items together so that you can get a good overall view of your belongings ? shoes, shirts, pants, belts, skirts etc?
Once all the sorting has been done, it is time to gauge if your closet can take it all and still remained organized. You might find that your old closet is just not up to the task. You either need a new closet, or maybe some spiffy closet organizer accessories to jazz up the old closet.
If you plan to jazz up the old closet, then closet organizer kits are the way to go. Don?t forget to take some measurements of your closet before setting off to get the closet organizer kits. This will ensure that the closet organizer kit that you purchase will fit snugly into your existing closet. Now you can turn the old closet bar and top shelf closet into a pimped up version complete with closet door hangers, sliding baskets and wired clothes rack.
If the old closet went out the door along with all your unwanted stuff, then you might want to spend on a whole new closet organizer system. This time, it would be a good idea to measure the space that your new closet organizer system will occupy. Then you can pop down to your local hardware store or a nearby Ikea to mix and match your brand new closet organizer system.
No matter which path of closet organizing you choose, the key is having the plan of what goes where. No point setting up a good closet organizer system only to dump your stuff into it!
