Newbie Mistake 1 Greed
By: Andrew Stark
If you're trying to make your fortune online via any form of internet marketing I'm sure that you've seen claims of how to turn a couple of dollars into thousands.
The classic example is the paypal chain letter, after all it's been on oprah, so it must be true! All you do is edit the email and forward to 10 friends, then by the end of the week you'll be rich! These scams rely on your greed to keep the chain going.
To avoid the greed trap you need to think like you would in the real world, if a stranger came up to you in the street and said "For $20 a month I'll show you a way to make thousands!" would you say "yes, here's my credit card details" or "what a loser, don't be so stupid"?
I'm hoping that you would say the later, if not then I'm afraid that your destined for failure and you've got no-one to blame but yourself.
The people behind these sites are very clever, they give you a replicated website and tell you how that by blasting your advert to million's you're guaranteed to fill your first level of the matrix, and the resulting spillover will make you can retire by christmas.
The spending cycle continues, and suddenly you've spent a couple of hundred dollars with no return. Now when you start to ask questions about the programme you find that your sponsor doesn't respond to e-mails, the customer support desk doesn't actually exist. Had you taken time to do some diligence then common sense would have won over greed.
Go to the warrior or NetMarketing forums and search for the name of the programme / company you're thinking of joining. Suddenly the sales letter doesn't look so attractive, and the income claims don't quite add up anymore.
The moral of this story is that if something looks too good to be true, then 99.9% of the time it will be a scam, so don't fall in the greed trap and waste your money chasing the "get rich quick" as it will lead you down the wrong path.
The correct path will lead you to find successful marketers who teach you the marketing basics and give you the tools to grow an online business.
