When writing messages on your website, the first thing that should be on your mind is that you are communicating to only one person. This gives customers a feel that they are dealing a real person.

Today?s customers have thousands of products to choose from and what distinguishes your product from the rest? Today?s marketing trends show that personalizing your product and establishing relationship with your customers is much more effective than the old way.

An great way to grab the attention and loyalty of customers now is to make it seem that you are talking to each and every one of your customers individually. And being a warm blooded real live human being is essential to your business success today.

Here are some great tips on personalizing the messages for your customers:

Quick Tip #1 Speak to them as yourself, not as a company. Use words like ?I? and ?me.? Avoid words like we, our, and us when talking to them and about your business.

When you hear words like I or me, it sounds like its coming from a real human being. When using words like we, our, and us; it sounds like a faceless corporation talking to you.

For example: USE:

?I can relate to??

?I?ve helped many people like to accomplish??

DON?T USE:

?We are the best company that blah blah blah??

?Our company is established blah blah blah??

Quick Tip #2 Speak to them individually, not as a group Use the word ?you? more often when writing your message directed to your readers. Don?t use words like everybody, all of you, you guys, etc., when addressing your readers.

For example: USE ? ?You should but this now if you want to??

DON?T USE ? ?Everybody should buy this now if??

When using ?you,? it directs the message more personally to that one person reading it.

Quick Tip #3 Don?t be anybody but yourself. Relax?be yourself. Be yourself as an individual not like some giant corporation. Write like you were talking in a conversation with a friend. It?ll be more natural and easier for you to write.

And remember that if you try to act like someone else just to impress people, you will eventually be found out. Although there are going to be a lot of people who will not like you for who you are, there are a lot of other people who will relate to you.

Just cater to the ones that relate to you and be yourself. It?s better than having your reputation destroyed and credibility lost.

Although ten thousand people maybe looking at your website, they should have a feeling that you are talking to them directly instead of a group. If they can relate to you, you establish rapport with your customers more easily.

So if you still think in the 1960?s mindset of mass marketing and being overly serious in your communication, you?d better change for the roaring 2000?s or be left behind.
