Getting Rid Of Fleas Home Remedy

For pet lovers, fleas are enemies. However, if you do not know how to get rid of them in a safe manner, it may harm your and even subject your household to toxicity due to chemical flea treatment. Home remedy flea treatment is thus important to ensure that your pet will be free from flea and your household safe for your kids as well.

Let us start by understanding flea and how you can safely do away with them.

What is a flea? A flea is a bloodsucking parasite with the ability to jump high. It is easy for a flea to attach itself on a dog even outside where the dog does not lie flat; this is because their spiky body can stick to the dog’s hair as it jumped.

How to get rid of flea home remedy There are various ways you can get rid of fleas inside your home. Some of them are homemade repellents, home made trap and avoiding flea infestation.

Homemade repellents · Eucalyptuses leaves may be sprinkled in areas were flea might thrive. It is safe for everybody and you can easily buy them on craft stores.

· Borax or swimming pool filter earth may also be used. Sprinkle some on your carpet, on the yard, in your basement and even put some on corners and cracks.

Homemade trap Because fleas can jump high, you may take advantage of their thrill of lights. Set a trap by placing a small basin under a lampshade put detergent and water solution deep enough to drown them when the flea leaps to reach the light, they will fall on the basin and drown right there.

Home care to avoid flea infestation · Vacuum the household entirely. Take special care on corners, cracks and the basement. Fleas thrive on hot and humid area the basement could be that. Corners and cracks may also be a place for flea to hide because their spiky body may keep them in the crack or corner.

· Bathe your dog regularly. If possible, train your dog to bathe with his body submerged in the water. While bathing, the fleas may drown and you can easily comb them away.

· If possible, use detergent to wash the body of your dog if you feel that there are flea eggs and larvae on your pet. Detergent will kill the egg and the larvae.

Making sure your pet is free from flea, you will surely be able to enjoy the company of your pet and keep your home safe.
