There are many different symptoms of hypothyroidism that you need to be aware if you think you might have a thyroid condition. Different people manifest illness in different ways, so it is important to know the main symptoms of hypothyroid conditions so you can be on the lookout.
Most Common Signs and Symptoms
The most common signs and symptoms associated with hypothyroidism are weakness and fatigue, but these are common with a lot of other ailments, too. It?s the other symptoms that will help you figure out if you?ve got a thyroid problem or if something else is wrong.
Most people with hypothyroid have trouble losing weight or experience sudden weight gain.
They may also have trouble tolerating cold, or feel more uncomfortable when it?s chilly than they used to and compared to the people around them. This may be associated with a lower than normal body temperature.

Other symptoms of hypothyroid conditions that you may or may not experience include: coarse and dry hair, dry and rough skin that looks pale, hair loss, muscle cramps and aches, constipation, depression, memory loss, irritability, abnormal menstrual cycles and decreased libido.
You could also experience loss or thinning of the eyebrows, a puffy face because of weight gain, cold hands and feet, abdominal swelling or thin, brittle fingernails.
Your voice may get hoarse, your joints can get achy, and you may develop carpal tunnel syndrome (if you already had this condition, it may get worse with hypothyroidism).
You may also feel like you?re losing interest in everyday activities and feel somewhat worthless.

If you feel like you need to yawn in order to get oxygen, have sleep apnea or are snoring more than you used to, you may have hypothyroidism.
If you?re having trouble getting pregnant, a thyroid problem may be to blame.
Other Symptoms of Hypothyroid Conditions
Shortness of breath, ringing in the ears, vertigo, lightheadedness, severe menstrual cramping or eye tics can be a sign of low thyroid function.
